To further ensure the effective implementation of summer… Three protections “Work to effectively address the issue of stifling heat in workshops during high-temperature weather. On May 13, Huawei Company carried out a comprehensive replacement and upgrade of aging convection fans that had long been in service and were operating at low efficiency. With rows of brand-new, high‑efficiency, energy‑saving fans officially put into operation, powerful streams of cool air have brought workers on the production front line refreshing breezes even in the height of summer.”
As May begins and temperatures continue to rise, the heat generated by operating equipment in the company’s production workshops, coupled with poor air circulation, poses significant challenges to the health of frontline workers and to safe production. Preliminary inspections revealed that many of the workshop’s existing convection fans suffer from common issues such as aging motors, deformed blades, reduced airflow, excessive noise, and inadequate ventilation. Working in high-temperature conditions can easily lead to fatigue and diminished concentration, creating safety risks while also hindering improvements in production efficiency.
In response to this situation, the leadership team of Huawei Company has attached great importance to the issue and designated “workshop heat‑prevention and cooling” as a key livelihood project for the second quarter. Adhering to the principle of “early planning and early implementation,” the Equipment, Safety, and Environmental Protection Department promptly coordinated efforts, conducted a thorough inventory and assessment of aging ventilation fans, and, taking into account the workshop’s production layout, spatial configuration, and heat‑source distribution, carefully selected new convection fans that are highly efficient, energy‑saving, and low‑noise. A scientifically sound replacement and installation plan was then developed. After four days of nonstop work, all the outdated convection fans in the production workshop were replaced, and the newly installed units have now been officially put into operation.
“In the past, as soon as summer arrived, it felt like being in a steamer—within minutes, we were drenched in sweat. Now, with the ventilation system running, air exchanges quickly between indoors and outdoors, effectively dispersing the heat that had built up in the workshop. We no longer feel stiflingly hot, and working feels much more energizing!” exclaimed frontline workers, speaking from the heart. The cool working environment not only helps alleviate summer fatigue and reduce the risk of heat‑related illnesses but also greatly boosts employee morale, enhances operational precision, and improves production efficiency. At the same time, it prevents equipment malfunctions caused by high temperatures, providing a solid foundation for continuous, stable production.
This replacement of the aging centrifugal fans not only enhances the working environment for employees but also represents a concrete step toward fulfilling the Group’s commitment to “delivering tangible benefits to the people with dedication and care.” Moving forward, Huawei Company will continue to focus on the immediate needs of its workforce, steadily improve production and working conditions, strengthen safety‑production safeguards, and systematically carry out initiatives to upgrade and optimize the work environment. By providing more thoughtful services and taking more robust measures, we will safeguard the physical and mental well‑being of our employees, create a safe, comfortable, and efficient production setting, and inject stronger momentum into the company’s sustained, steady growth.
